PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This year, CARVE expands its focus to incorporate several new topics certain to be of interest to all vascular specialists, including cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons as well as vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists.  As always, the conference will cover the most clinically relevant topics as well as financial issues so critical to effective practice management.  New this year, CARVE will also examine healthcare reform and its impact on the vascular and endovascular fields.

Now in its fifth year, this innovative conference will be led by an outstanding national faculty who will offer insightful learning based on real-life lessons, successes and challenges with current surgical and endovascular practice in seven core areas:

  • Aortic Aneurysms
  • Messenteric Vascular disease
  • Carotid Occlusive Disease and Stroke
  • Venous Disease
  • Peripheral Arterial Disease
  • Dialysis Access
  • Healthcare Reform

Technology and innovation will be highlighted this year with computer simulators for supervised, dedicated, hands-on teaching and fine-tuning of endovascular skills.  Also new this year will be workshops for hands-on experience with endovascular devices to treat stroke and maintain dialysis access.

While technology and technique continue to push the evolution of clinical practice, these are not the only contributing factors.  CARVE will enable attendees to gain an understanding of how practice management with all of its opportunities and challenges– and those created by health reform – will impact clinical practice and the business of medicine.

Unlike conferences you have attended in the past, CARVE has been purposely and intentionlly designed to allow you to actively engage in discussion and share insight and information from your own experience.  In addition, the unique format combines an exciting educational experience with the beautiful surroundings of a world-class ski resort.

After completing the program, participants should be able to:

  • Describe up-to-date, clinically relevant reviews and techniques of surgical and endovascular treatment of aortic aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease, carotid stenosis, venous insufficiency, and structural heart disease.
  • Discuss complications associated with these new treatments, offering valuable real-life insight into these cases.
  • Explain practice management challenges and identify business opportunities associated with the clinical changes in each core area.
  • Explain the impact of healthcare reform on the vascular and endovascular fields.

Please join us for what we expect to be a meaningful and valuable conference.
